Why would you choose a PAPR over a standard disposable or reusable mask?
PAPR's are easier to breath in and are more comfortable to work in if required for more that just a short time. PAPR's work by using a battery-powered blower to draw ambient air through a filter and then deliver the purified air to the wearer's breathing zone. This system creates a positive pressure inside the facepiece or helmet, preventing unfiltered air from entering, even if there's not a perfect seal. This is important for people with facial hair, as perfect seals are difficult to maintain.
